Church Night Shelter Program

Are you looking for new mission opportunities helping the less fortunate in your community?
During the first week of March, our congregation will be partnering with West End Baptist
church and other congregations around the Suffolk area hosting the Night Stay shelter. The
shelter will be located in the basement fellowship area in our building and participants will be
using the restrooms on the main floor. Staircases leading up to the top floor will be blocked
during shelter operating hours.
SPC has been asked to assist West End Baptist Church by providing healthy snacks and $15 gift
cards for people to take with them to use when leaving the shelter in the morning. We will be
collecting donations throughout the month of February. A list of healthy snacks and preferred
gift cards will be posted in the announcements in our bulletin at a later date. For anyone wishing
to give of their time, below is a link with volunteer opportunities.
